Behringer X-Touch - how to turn your studio into an effective workspace
Behringer X Touch - an effective way to speed up your studio workflow.
Our test DAW is Pro Tools which connects to the Behringer X-Touch controller via HUI protocol (Built-in 2x2 USB MIDI interface).
One of the fastest way to speed up your studio sessions is the use of shortcuts. Using shortcuts usually involves number of key combinations to get the necessary results or worse, the mouse click. If you already have some experience with DAWs you probably know how time consuming that could be. Now imagine if you could do all that by a single press of the button - on the controller.
The Behringer X-Touch Universal Control Surface with Touch-Sensitive Motor Faders, LCD Scribble Strips and Ethernet/USB/MIDI Interface is perfect tool in the toolbox. Probably the only tool you would ever need. The X-Touch has 92 dedicated illuminated buttons. REC, SOLO, MUTE, SELECT, SEND to name the basic ones. FADER BANK allows you to quickly navigate between channels in the group of 8 while the CHANNEL let's you simply scroll through channel by channel. ZOOM funtion combined the left and right arrow keys changes the visual representation of the waveform while Up and Down arrows provide the zoom in-out option. Needless to say the the X-Touch controller has dedicated buttons for SAVE, UNDO, PLAY, STOP, RECORD, REWIND and FAST FORWARD. LCD scribble strips display channel names and parameters of the selected bank.
If you feel that remote controlling of 8 channels in ProTools (or other DAWs) with fully automated touch-sensitive motorized faders is not you enough ,you have a built-in 2-port powered multi-TT USB hub for connecting X-Touch Extender and/or X-Touch Compact.
